A Fresh Start in this Coming Year

As we come to the beginning of a new year and the ending of an old one, we often wish we could turn over a new leaf or have a fresh start. No doubt about it, there have been certain things we have said or done in this past year that we have come to regret.

Wouldn't it be great to just start over again? In reality, as a Christian you can have a fresh start. The New Year is still a blank slate. There are opportunities ahead of you. You decide which path you are going to walk in this coming year. "Thus says the LORD: 'Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls'" (Jeremiah 6:16). You decide what your priorities are going to be. You decide which direction you are going to take, each and every day.

Maybe some of us need a fresh start in this coming year. Here is a great opportunity to make a new commitment. We don't know what the New Year is going to bring. We don't know what problems we are going to encounter. We don't know what changes are going to come. We don't know what blessings the Lord has in store for us. But whatever the New Year holds, we don't have to be afraid because Jesus Christ is going to be waiting there for us.

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God."
God is in control of your future. He is ready to bless you in this coming year.

Do not dwell on the past

Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other, just as in Christ God
forgave you.
( Ephesians 4:32 *NIV )

It is easy for us to ask God for forgiveness, but we often
find it very difficult to forgive others. Therefore when you
find yourself angry with someone and thinking about revenge,
remember that it is written; Do not take revenge, my
friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it
is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,
" says the Lord. ( Romans 12:19 )

After all our Savoir Jesus Christ gave us this warning as well;
For if you forgive men when they sin against you,
your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if
you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will
not forgive your sins. ( Matthew 6:14-15 )

Therefore; "Forget the former things; do not dwell on
the past. ( Isaiah 43:18 ) For the past is gone and no
one can change it anyway! All we can do is make today the
best that we can by forgiving our enemies, just as God has
forgiven us!

So why not make peace with those who may have
angered you, remembering the Words of our Savior Jesus
Christ; Blessed are the peacemakers, for
they will be called sons of God. Amen.
( Matthew 5:9 )

Christmas really stands for the Birth of our Lord

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and
bear a Son, and they shall call His name
Immanuel,"* which is translated, "God with
us." ( Matthew 1:23 NKJV )

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given;
and the government will be upon His shoulder.
and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
( Isaiah 9:6 )

As we prepare to celebrate Christ's Birth, try not to get caught
up in the hustle bustle of the season, which is easy to do with
Santa Claus, Christmas Trees and Presents. Always keep in
mind that Christmas really stands for the Birth of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and His great gifts to us, including the
Forgiveness of our sins and Eternal Life as well.

Now it is my prayer that your Christmas be filled with love,
hope and faith, and that; the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
( Philippians 4:7 )

Have a Very Merry Christmas, and may it be
happy and bright as well!. Amen.

God's joy within you

Whoever gives heed to instruction
prospers, and blessed is he who
trusts in the LORD .
( Proverbs 16:20 *NIV )

Never let the enemy still your joy and leave you
downcast! Instead enjoy what God has given to you,
for; Blessed are the people of whom this is true;
blessed are the people whose God is the
LORD . ( Psalms 144:15 )

Now when we have negative thoughts it draws negative
results into our lives. Likewise, when we think positive
thoughts we draw positive results in as well!

After all when we are downcast it brings on depression,
worry and anxiety. All of those things are known to cause
health problems. So always think positive for; A merry
heart does good, like medicine, But a broken
spirit dries the bones. ( Proverbs 17:22 )

Now I know that; A righteous man may have many
troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.
( Psalm 34:19 ) So again, do not let the enemy steal your
joy on any day. For you know that; Your enemy the devil
prowls around like a roaring lion looking for some-

Enjoy what God has planned for you, and
show that beautiful smile of yours. For when you smile it shows
God's joy within you!

Amen

Why Jesus is Better Than Santa Claus

Santa lives at the North Pole.....
JESUS is everywhere,

Santa rides in a sleigh.....
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year....
JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies....
JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited…
JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart.

You have to wait in line to see Santa....
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap....
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is “Hi little boy or girl, what’s your name?”..
JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He knows how many hairs are on our heads.

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO
JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says "you better not cry”
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.

Santa’s little helpers make toys I
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle but
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly....
JESUS has a heart full of love.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree.....
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

It’s obvious there is really no comparison. We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in Christmas, Jesus is stil1 the reason for the season.
Yes. Jesus is better, he is even better than Santa Clause

The greatest example of love

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no
longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved
me and gave Himself for me.
( Galatians 2:20 *NKJV )

Now this verse was written by the Apostle Paul, but it
also applies to you and me as well. Now you are probably
thinking how does that apply to me? Well in God's eyes
our past sin debt was paid in full when Christ died on the
cross.
.
Thus it is written; And you, being dead in your
trespasses and the uncircumcision of your
flesh, He has made alive together with Him,
having forgiven you all trespasses, having
wiped out the handwriting of requirements
that was against us, which was contrary to
us. And He has taken it out of the way, having
nailed it to the cross. ( Colossians 2:13-14 )

Therefore we should also crucify our sinful desires each
and every day. For then the marks against us in The Book of
Life will continue to be cleansed by the most precious blood
of our Savior Jesus Christ!

So, if you are ever feeling unloved remember
the tremendous sacrifice made, and the tremendous price
paid for your sins! That is the greatest example of love
that this World has ever known, and it is offered daily to
you and me as well.

Amen.
