Creative Thinking

Sometimes you run across a quote in a book or you hear someone say something that just jumps out at you. Then again, some things are so subtle that you may overlook the wisdom shared.

They just aren’t slogan material such as “Just Do It!” or “Dance like no one is watching.”
Nevertheless, a somewhat boring statement could turn your life around. As they say, “The light came on.” The following quote did that for me recently. Maybe you can mull it over and see what it does for your thinking, your job, or that big challenge facing you.
“The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them.” – Albert Einstein

This probably wouldn’t be printed on a t-shirt but it is a quote that is worth re-reading! The next question to ask yourself is, “How can I think on a higher level?”
Here are some tips that might help you look at your situation differently and think “up.”

1. Read your bible

2. Step away from the problem for a short period of time.

3. Do something entirely different to take your mind off your challenge.

4. Find something funny whether it is renting a funny movie or going into a card shop and reading the funny cards, or getting with a friend that makes you laugh.

5. Find an article, a book or CD about the art of creative thinking.

6. Read your bible

7. Go to a conference or expo where there are lots of ideas. Attend meetings whether they
are related to your problem or not. When you are around energized people with ideas it
spreads to other areas.

8. Write down 20 things you could do about your situation. Find the best one to try and go to work on that!

9. P-U-S-H (PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS)

Challenge yourself to raise your level of thinking. It’s an exciting concept…if you think about it.
